Matthew Langford Perry (born August 19, 1969) is an actor, most famous for playing the role of Chandler Bing on the American television sitcom Friends (1994-2004). Perry has also guest starred in Ally McBeal The West Wing, then lent his voice to The Simpsons. He has also appeared on Punk'd.

While born in Williamstown, Massachusetts, USA, Perry was raised in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. He is the son of character actor John Bennett Perry (b. January 4, 1941) and Suzanne Perry Morrison (who had been a press secretary for Canadian Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau). His parents are now divorced. Perry is missing part of his right middle finger due to a door-shutting accident.

Matthew began acting at age 15. He maintains dual Canadian and U.S. citizenship. Recently he has been moving into films.

Matthew Perry has been struggling for years with prescription drug and alcohol addiction. Perry proved to be impressively insightful about his abuse in an interview with talk-show host Larry King.

Less than a week before the series finale of Friends, he was Punk'd by Ashton Kutcher and his friend Howard Deutch. They all sent Perry to the warehouse full of stolen cars where Perry and Deutch gets busted by the FBI for buying the car off from the black market.

In November 2004, after the series finale of Friends, he directed and guest-starred on an episode of Scrubs. His father also starred in the episode, playing the father of Matthew's character. (The two had previously starred as father and son in the 1997 movie Fools Rush In.)

Perry hosted the 2005 ESPY Awards, which took place on July 13 in Los Angeles.

He is also a huge hockey fan. His favourite NHL team is the Ottawa Senators. He often attends the playoff games in Ottawa, Canada.
